Crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are custom fit over preexisting teeth.
We use the latest technological advances to restore damaged smiles.

Seamlessly beautiful and built to last, our crowns complete your smile with grace and strength.

Porcelain crowns are a popular option for the restoration of severely damaged teeth, particularly anterior teeth. They are intended for patients with lots of wear on their teeth or with pre-existing work like root canals or fractures. This may be the right option for you if extensive grinding damage is present. In some cases, porcelain crowns may be used in combination with veneers. Careful consideration is necessary when it comes to porcelain crowns, as they may not suit everyone on the cosmetic dentistry spectrum.

The tooth-shaped caps are custom fit over preexisting teeth and fill several diverse needs, including strengthening weak teeth, supporting and protect cracked teeth, restoring broken or worn-down teeth, securing dental bridges, masking severely discolored or stained teeth, covering and protecting root canal-treated teeth, and covering dental implants.

To prepare a tooth to receive a porcelain crown, we must first file away some of its natural enamel. The next step is to create a tooth impression, whether with a special putty or digitally, and then to employ a temporary crown. Once the permanent crown is ready, we first ensure that the color and fit are a perfect match, then we bond it to your tooth.

Most porcelain crown recipients can resume a normal routine immediately after the installation. However, certain foods should be avoided once the crown has been installed: ice cubes, hard nuts, popcorn kernels, and taffy/caramel. For some patients, slight sensitivity, soreness and tenderness in the gums is natural and to be expected. The usual lifespan for porcelain crowns is 5 to 15 years. If porcelain crowns are the right choice for your ideal cosmetic smile plan, Castellanos Dental will ensure the best possible care will be delivered, and that the patient will be treated like the queen, king, princess, or prince they are.
